Laboratory Compliance Officer - Remote
Position Overview
Laboratory Express Diagnostics is seeking a knowledgeable Laboratory Compliance Officer to join our Compliance team in a 100% remote capacity. You will be the guardian of regulatory excellence, ensuring our laboratory operations meet the highest compliance standards while navigating the complex landscape of healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs for laboratory operations
- Monitor compliance with CLIA, CAP, FDA, HIPAA, and state regulations
- Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments
- Prepare for and manage regulatory inspections and surveys
- Investigate compliance violations and implement corrective actions
- Develop and update policies, procedures, and compliance documentation
- Provide compliance training and education to laboratory staff
- Monitor changes in healthcare regulations and update policies accordingly
- Maintain compliance tracking systems and documentation
- Collaborate with quality, operations, and legal teams
- Report compliance metrics and issues to senior leadership
- Manage incident reporting and investigation processes
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or related field
- 3+ years of healthcare or laboratory compliance experience
- Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, and laboratory regulations
- Experience conducting compliance audits and assessments
- Understanding of regulatory inspection processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and guidelines
- Proficiency with compliance management software and MS Office
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or similar certification
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or MLT background
- Experience with ISO 15189 or CAP accreditation
- Knowledge of OIG compliance program guidelines
- Experience with molecular diagnostics or clinical laboratory testing
- Previous remote work experience
- Project management skills
